This morning... Contemplating

I am still plugging away at LeadBreakfastI will finally get my turntable back at some point this week and can start moving forward with production. I am still about in the same place I have been but am really going to make a push to finish this all up in the next month or so. Afterall modern warfare 2 comes out in November. So it all has to be completed by then. Or it might be another couple years.

I wrote this the other day on my way home from work, aggrivated by a suggestion.

Recommend I make something Positove, happy and upbeat/ but their unaware of the problems and tragedy that's tucked deep/ beneath the badger teeth/ you can't measure the secrets that these tusks keep/ touch on it and the rust bleeds/ suit of armor rocket mounted shootin starboard/ potted poor kid whose portions didn't suit his karma/ ready to jet engine treading your Tarmac/ death stench like bubba fet breath on the sarlac/

Back to Basics

Last week, for the first time since August, I was able to buy some records. It is wierd for me to go a month without picking up something, but six months is just ridiculous. I finally have some ammunitin to store in the closet and really pull out some new songs. Now if I am only able to write some worthwhile lyrics. I have definitely been in a slump on that end as well.

Beat Closet

I have been having a hard time finding the time to set up the mpc and turntable in order to work on new beats. This has been the main drawback in the production process since we opened Brick and Mortar up. But Finally with some rearranging, I found some new accommodations, in the closet that we used to use as a vocal booth in my apartment. Cozy.. but I did make two new beats last night. Now all I need to do is maintenance the equipment, most of the buttons sliders and faders are getting sticky, I mean, it is almost 10 years old, and is probably full of dust.

2009mm...

I have never been one to find any need to celebrate a New Year. It seems like just another day to me, and to be honest, if I didn't have a job, I would probably never know what day it actually was. This year might have been a tiny bit different though, as I am really starting to feel some pressure with certain aspects of my existence. I have this great desire for progress, and more than anything else, bringing a few things to completion. The most important obviously is my album.

I spent much of yesterday cleaning the apartment trying to plan a way to make myself more effective at home, production has been lacking and I am in need of a small workspace. I also penned out a majority of the record. Something I was trying not to do because I really wanted it to just take me where I needed to be, but I felt like without a plan, the creative process would have never ended. I currently have about 10 songs near completion that I feel are acceptable for the project. Here is the list

  1. 2009mm into
  2. lead breakfast
  3. madness
  4. detonated
  5. small town
  6. what's it worth
  7. rock planet
  8. sun tzu to sun up
  9. black water breaks the levee
  10. disposable paparazzi
  11. chinese toys
I am going to start shooting some video in the studio space, showing the progress. I will try to upload some clips as I go. I feel I need more documentation that I am doing something, as it will drive me harder to finish.

Collapse in 2010...

This is something to think about, and while sure, a lot of this seems sensible in our current situation, I don't think his map has a lot of incite behind it. As a country there is still so much to sacrifice before we hit such dire circumstances that we can no longer support ourselves at all.
