Last night Elliot Imes of Tyborn Jig was nice enough to stop by and lay down a few more guitar tracks for the album. He has been a part of almost every song so far, and has really added a dimension that was missing in previous works. Our approach is pretty basic, as I just record while elliot plays for about 3 minutes. I then will go back and reconstruct what he has done, a lot like sampling from a record, but without having to eq out drums and bass. So far everything he has done has pretty much fallen right into place with the album, and I am excited he is a part of the process right now.
I have never done much live instrumentation within my music, a lot of that has been limited by the spaces in which I have been working in. Now having a home outside of home with no set hours for noise pollution, I have found some freedom to do so. From live drums to the ESQ-1 and collaborating with other artists, I am enjoying the process more and more. Which only speeds up the progress....
maybe 15%...
